Books, Books and More Books…

I’ve accepted the fact today that I have an addiction of the literary persuasion that I don’t know how to overcome…

After clearing out most of the items in my apartment, and giving away around 65 books that I had here, I began the same process today at my office. I have a five tiered bookshelf, approximately 6′ tall and three additional bookcases. I had one of my employees meet me there today to give him books that I knew he would be able to use in his personal studies and in his day to day duties. When all was said and done, he went home with at least 125 books. Great progress, you say?!? Well, I have a minimum 250 left. What in the world possessed me to keep all of these after I read them?

NEVER AGAIN!

I could claim that I can quit anytime I want, but I’ve taken ownership of my problem and I have admitted that I can’t kick it alone. Thankfully, however, I don’t need to – – I have both a Nook Color and a Kindle 4. This gives me room to not only replace the majority of the books I gave away and the ones I’ll donate to the local library, but to purchase and archive literally thousands more – – hahaha (sinister laugh!)

Ahhh, the wonders of technology – – gotta love it!!!

  1. I’ve had good luck selling my book collection on amazon… but it takes a while. The one that sold today was one I listed in January 2012. I donate to my library too, and to friends and coffee-shops.

  2. So it sounds like you’re, “word nerd” like me and so many others! LOL! Imagine this – – with a Kindle, you can carry your entire library with you everywhere you go. Goosebumps, right?!? I have both a Kindle and Nook Color because there are different books available for each (thousands of free books, as well) and I get my magazine subscriptions on the Nook. So convenient!
