Week two of the RV renovations has begun and I can see this homely duckling (she was never ugly) becoming a swan! I’ve made numerous trips to Home Depot, Lowe’s, Walmart, Advanced Auto Parts, etc., etc. for paint, wood, screws, batteries, and anything else we need to continue beautifing our home on wheels.
My dear hubby tackled the tedious job of removing the dinette. I knew it was taking up an immense amount of liveable space, but I didn’t realize we’d gain nearly six feet — SCORE!
As far as manpower, we’re batting a thousand because my “wasband” (aka ex-husband) and his wife have been on board with my hubby and me helping to put it together. Teamwork makes the dream work! 😊😊😊
I’m very pleased with the frugality I’ve exhibited during the course of our DIY Motorhome Makeover, and I do believe my hubby is, too!
Most of the materials, like interior paint from “Wally World” weren’t priced very high. One exception is the Flex Seal, which was still well worth the cost. We bought two gallons in white to seal the roof for a total of $198.00.
Once the job was completed, we still had about 1/4 of the first gallon left, and we returned the unused gallon to Lowe’s for the simplest refund experience I’ve ever had in life — hats off to the customer service team at the Madison Heights, MI Lowe’s! I promise, I’ve never had a bad day at any Lowe’s and I’ve been to quite a few. If you’re a subscriber, you know I shared my story about one location in Florence, Kentucky a few years ago.
All in all, everything is looking up. We’ve got a few days of rain ahead and then we’ll be at it again! More updates are coming. 😊
