Advanced Reader’s Copy Book Review: Campaign Widows

Once again, I’ve been a bad little reader and have fallen behind on my mini ARC book reviews… I promise I have many more coming, but today, I’m presenting a soon to be released jewel entitled Campaign Widows by Aimee Agresti.

Bad news first: in my opinion, there were too many characters (reminiscent of J.K. Rowling’s Casual Vacancy,) and it was a bit challenging to hone in on the novel’s central figure. Once some of the layers of this literary onion was unpeeled, however, an entertaining story began to unfold.

Without giving away too much, I will say that if you follow political news, enjoy campaign backstories, and still have an affinity for Sex and the City, then this is the book for you! Agresti even gives you your own Carrie by way of writer, Sky Vasquez. In a nutshell, Campaign Widows makes for a great weekend read that will cause you to laugh, feel a tinker of sentiment, and allow you to get lost for a moment in the unbelievable world of political innerworkings.

Give this one a try, you won’t be disappointed!
